About
Seniors Journey

Trusted Support For Every Stage Of Senior Living

When someone you love starts needing more help than you can give on your own, life can feel heavy fast. You’re sorting through choices, carrying worry, and trying to protect someone who means everything to you. That’s why we started Seniors Journey. We know how emotional senior care decisions can be, and we believe no family should have to figure them out alone.

We’re an Ottawa-based senior support business that helps seniors, older adults, and the people who care for them make clear, confident decisions. Whether you’re planning ahead or dealing with an urgent change, we’re here with honest guidance, practical next steps, and compassionate family support and peace of mind that helps you breathe a little easier.

Who We Are At Seniors Journey

At Seniors Journey, we’re dedicated to helping aging adults and their families navigate senior living, care options, and major life transitions. We serve Ottawa and the surrounding area with local guidance, and we also support families virtually when loved ones live in different cities or provinces.

We offer a mix of educational, advisory, and referral-based support. We don’t run a residence, provide hands-on elder care, or replace healthcare professionals. Instead, we help you understand your options, compare what fits your situation, and connect with trusted providers and community support when needed. In plain language, we help with resource navigation and care planning so you don’t feel lost in the process.

Adriana Olvera created Seniors Journey after seeing how confusing and stressful these decisions can be for families. Her story still shapes how we work today. We ask thoughtful questions, slow things down when you need clarity, and focus on what truly fits your loved one, not what creates the fastest placement.

Meet Adriana Olvera

Founder and Director of Seniors Journey

Adriana Olvera has dedicated her life to helping seniors and their families navigate the transition into retirement living with confidence, knowledge, and peace of mind. With 17 years of experience in senior living and care, she brings a deep understanding of the process, allowing families to benefit from the knowledge and relationships she has built throughout her career.

Her passion for helping others began early in life. At just 12 years old, Adriana became involved in the founding of an orphanage in her hometown of Morelia, Mexico, a UNESCO World Heritage city celebrated for its rich culture and history. Through her involvement in the project from an early age, she developed a lifelong commitment to supporting children and serving her community.

Adriana remains closely connected to the orphanage and continues to support the many generations of children who have lived there, offering guidance and encouragement as they grow into adulthood.

Her commitment to service later led her to missionary work, and at the age of 20, to begin a new chapter in Canada – a move she considers part of her greater calling.

After arriving in Canada, Adriana became part of the first generation of volunteers at Rogers House, a pediatric hospice. She was also one of the founders of the Condors, a hockey program for children and youth with special needs, where she served as Volunteer Coordinator. Her dedication to supporting others continued through volunteer work in several long-term care homes, further strengthening her passion for improving the lives of seniors and their families.

Adriana’s experience naturally led her into the retirement living industry. She built a successful career as General Manager of a respected, family-owned retirement residence with strong ties to the local community. During this time, she also co-founded and managed a home care agency, which she operated successfully until it was sold during the pandemic.

Today, as the Founder and Director of Seniors Journey, Adriana combines 17 years of professional experience with a lifetime of compassion and service. She is committed to helping families understand their options, find the right living environment, and secure the care their loved ones deserve.

Our Mission And Values

Our mission is simple: Reduce the stress, confusion, and pressure that come with aging-related decisions. Families tell us they often start this process feeling overwhelmed. We’re here to make it feel steadier, kinder, and more manageable.

Our values guide every recommendation we make:

Every senior deserves respect, regardless of health, mobility, or budget.

We don’t push families toward an option that isn’t right. Our recommendations aren’t commission-driven.

When one person is going through a transition, the whole family feels it. We care for that full picture with our family connectivity services.

We keep things simple, clear, and easy to talk through by phone, email, or video.

At Seniors Journey, we also take accuracy seriously. Our educational content is reviewed and refreshed regularly to reflect current senior care options, Ontario regulations, and real-world changes in local services. When we share guidance, we want it to be useful, current, and worthy of your trust.

How Seniors Journey Supports Older Adults And Families

We support families at different points in the aging journey, and we tailor our help to what you’re facing right now.

If you’re planning ahead, we can help you talk through aging in place, home support, future housing choices, and what to watch for before a crisis forces a rushed decision. That kind of early planning gives you more control and usually more good options.

If you’re dealing with an urgent change, we help you sort through the next step with a calmer head. That could mean comparing care after a hospital stay, weighing home care against assisted living, or understanding when memory care or long-term care becomes the safer fit.

If a move is already happening, we help with transition planning and decision support. Families dealing with relocation can benefit from our Ottawa senior relocation services to make the process feel more organized and less overwhelming.

Why Families Choose Seniors Journey

Families come to us for many reasons, but they stay with us because they feel heard, respected, and supported. That’s important when you’re making decisions that affect safety, comfort, independence, and peace of mind.

Generic directories can give you names, but they can’t understand the story behind your search. They don’t know if your loved one is fiercely independent, living with memory loss, worried about leaving home, or trying to stay close to family. They also don’t help much when choices feel urgent or emotionally loaded.

At Seniors Journey, we do. We take the time to understand your goals, concerns, budget, preferences, and local service needs before suggesting any path forward. At Seniors Journey, we also make our neutrality clear: We don’t sell your information, and we don’t shape recommendations around referral commissions. That independence is a big part of our trustworthiness.

Our Commitment To Compassionate, Personalized Guidance

No two families come to us with the same story, and we never treat them like they do. Personal support isn’t a slogan here. It’s how we work every day.

We also know we’re not the best fit for every situation. If you need emergency help, immediate medical treatment, or legal advice, we’re not the direct provider for that. But if you need a clear-headed partner to help you understand the options, compare them thoughtfully, and move forward with confidence, that’s exactly where we shine.

Our Straightforward Approach

You reach out by phone, email, or through our website. At Seniors Journey, we start with a real conversation about what’s happening, what feels urgent, and what kind of support would help most. We typically respond within one business day, and that first conversation is no-cost and no-obligation.

Next, we look at the details that shape a good recommendation: Health needs, safety concerns, daily routines, family dynamics, budget, location, and personal preferences. We also talk about what kind of support is realistic for the caregiver, because that matters just as much as the housing decision itself.

Then we walk you through clear options and next steps. We explain the trade-offs, not just the labels. That means helping you compare staying at home with support, independent living, assisted living, memory care, or long-term care, depending on your loved one’s situation. If a referral makes sense, we explain why. If education is the better next step, we say that too. We follow up after recommendations so you don’t feel dropped once the first decision is made.
